Anatomical features of the prostate and urinary organs
> **1.3//The organ the media is most concerned about---the prostate**
>
The prostate is a sex organ that participates in the production of semen. The prostate is located in the pelvic cavity and cannot be seen or felt from the outside. It connects to the bladder above and extends to the perineum below, with the urethra passing through it.
>
The size of the prostate changes most throughout life. In newborns, the prostate is almost undetectable. By adolescence, the prostate weighs about 20g and is about the size of a chestnut, approximately 2cm × 3cm × 4cm. As age increases, the prostate gradually enlarges. After age 50, the growth rate of the prostate accelerates. Of course, there are significant individual differences. Some people's prostates do not change much throughout their lives, while some patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia have prostates that can reach the size of an apple, as seen in surgical specimens.

**Characteristics of the Urinary Organs**
>
> **2.1 // Organs that store urine** **------** **Bladder**
>
The bladder, commonly known as the allantoic bladder, is an organ that retains urine. It is shaped like an inverted pear, and its size varies depending on the amount of urine. The maximum capacity of the bladder is 800ml. The bladder is not related to male reproduction or sexual activity.
>
> **2.2//The bridge between the kidney and bladder** **------** **Ureter**
>
The ureter connects the kidney to the bladder, and its lumen diameter is approximately 0.8 cm. Its main function is to transport urine from the kidney to the bladder, and it is unrelated to sexual or reproductive functions.
>
> 2.3 // The organ men care about most** **------** **Both kidneys**
>
The kidney, commonly known as the kidney, is where urine is produced. There is one kidney on each side of the human body, with the left kidney being slightly larger than the right kidney. Each kidney is approximately 3cm x 6cm x 12cm in size and shaped like a broad bean. It is unrelated to human reproduction and sexual function.
>
The concept of the kidney in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) differs from that in Western medicine. In TCM, the concept of the kidney includes connotations of fertility and sexuality.
